Crazyyyy

Everything is sooo crazy! Mikes moving out tomorrow, he's packing right now. Yesterday me and Mum had to go buy a fridge, and we also bought a new TV and also got a car! Which means I'll actually be learning to drive, and on a manual no less hehe. Should be fun. We need to get a shit load of stuff from IKEA tomorrow and maybe a few other places, which should also be fun. Lets hope they all fit into the cars eh? hehehe!

There Will Be Blood

4.5/5

Epic. That is the word to describe this! It is an epic film! Certainly did not disappoint, feels like I've been waiting years to see this! Daniel Day-Lewis is extraordinary, there is no one out there like him. His performance is powerful, simply powerful. Paul Dano is amazing, he holds his own and he holds it strong and well! His final scene is truly something to be seen. There are so many powerful scenes, best to not even mention them, the less you know the better it is. Paul Thomas Anderson has not disappointed me as a film-maker, this was something quite different from him and it works so well. The cinematography is stunning, you almost feel like you are right there in the oil. The music as well, another very strong point, a very powerful element in the film. Another viewing will be required down the track for sure.

Rambo IV

3/5

Not a bad way to spend 80mins, it is quite gory and all over the place. The dialogue is pretty bad in some parts, but the action makes you forget that. Surprisingly the performances are pretty decent too. I adore Julie Benz and I really liked her here, I thought her character could have been pretty annoying, but she made it work. Sly did his Sly thing, the surprise was that Rambo didn't do it all alone, which was actually good. If you like Rambo and lots of blood, then check it out.

No Country For Old Men

4.5/5

Truly this is a great film. A simple story, yes, simply characters? Hell no! We get a hitman in the form of Javier Bardem that is unlike any character you are likely to see. You know what this guy is about from the moment you see him, Javier really made this character something you will remember. Josh Brolin as the man he is after is so great, another fantastic performance from him. Tommy Lee Jones is Tommy Lee Jones, he's great as always. I loved Woody Harrelson in his small role, he took it and he ran with it. The visual in this are great, raw and dirty! The music fits perfectly, flows so well. The tag line for this film is 'There are no clean getaways' and may how that rings true. Highly recommend this one, and I certainly want to watch it again!

sunday morning

So its Sunday morning, woke up not too long ago. I promised Mum I'd chat to her before she went to bed but I slept in and missed her. But she'll be here in 2 days YAY! Tuesday she's here, back home, I couldn't be happier! I have a lot to do today to get ready for her arrival, she can't come back to a messy home now can she? Although with people crashing here it might be a bit hard to do anything until they leave.

So yesterday I did a bad bad thing, I have bills to pay, and stuff, but I went into the Comic Book store in town and they have the book I've been wanting to buy for such a long time! But this is a BIGGER edition then the one I wanted! Its called Showcase Presents SUPERGIRL, it has over 5oo pages of comics, starting with the very first appearance of Supergirl in Superman #123 from August 1958! It covers all the comics she was in until Action Comics #282 November 1961. This is just volume 1, I am not too sure if volume 2 is out yet. But it was pretty well priced, I would have probably paid more if I got it off Amazon whose shipping prices have been insane as of late.

So I went and drooled in Movie Maniacs as well, they had one of my Chewbacca action figures (From TESB, with C3PO), on sale for $49.95! I should have kept it in the box, or bought 2 and kept it in the box as I only paid $10 I am sure for it when I saw it for sale years ago! They had some really neat stuff there, I love the nerdo stores! The Comic Book store had this awesome Supergirl statue I've been eyeing for awhile now but it was $125! I didn't get to check the other Comic Book store, they have some awesome stuff, maybe next time.

I am so sick of this pathetic heat wave Adelaide is going through, breaking records too! So you know its a bad one! The heat is making me so sick, I nearly passed out at work, and when I got home I almost did faint! I'm glad I was at home though! I am pretty sick of work too, its at the point I just don't want to go at all, the only reason I make it there is to get my money. It just makes things that much more depressing when you really don't want to be there and being there makes you so down and out. August will make three years I'm there, and I honestly do not want to be there that long. I need a job that provides more hours, working a few hours a day seems so pointless especially as I have to travel an hour there and an hour back every day unless someone gives me a lift. I can't really afford to live on what I make. So you know that just makes things even more depressing and stressful. And yes the lovely stress, it is taking its toll on me so badly. Hopefully once Mum is here I wont be so stressed and depressed!

Are Your A Weirdo?

You Are 36% Weirdo

You're a little weird, but you'd be even weirder if you didn't have a few quirks.

You are just strange enough to know it, but nobody else seems to notice your weirdness.

That's because, deep down, everyone is a little freaky!

Stress

I've been so stressed for much a long time, it's been talking its toll on me. So much going on, most of it not exactly good stuff either. And things just keep getting more mental and more stressful. I just feel like I'm going to just shatter and break. I can barely handle this all anymore, last night all I could do was just cry. Are things going to get better? I hope so, but the outlook doesn't look so great for that. All I can do is hope it does. See if I can get through today without losing it. Already not looking forward to today, we're in a huge heat wave, I have to go to work in a place that is hotter then hell. I can't handle the heat very well, in that I have no idea how I will go. Other things there, I'd rather not even get into.

The one good thing I can look forward to is Mum's arrival in 6 days! Can't come soon enough!

We Own The Night

3/5

I expected this to be a bit better, it was pretty average and it kind of dragged in parts. The acting was fine for the most part, Eva Mendes isn't a very good actress she was better in this but still not very good. She almost just seemed to not really know what to do with her character. Joaquin Phoenix was probably the strongest in this, he's a great actor and certainly elevated the role. I thought the script could have been a bit better, seemed a little bit weak in spots. The movie gets better towards the second half I thought, and I found it flowed a little better for me. The soundtrack was great though, probably the best part about the film actually.

Ahh public holidays

So today is Adelaide Cup Day so that means we get a day off, so yay for that.

I applied for a few more jobs, lets hope I hear back from this round of applications, as I've applied for so many jobs and I haven't heard anything yet! Not even a rejection, at least with that I know something. Not knowing, is rather annoying!

So yesterday the stupid damn ants got into the house and attacked my 21st Birthday Non Edible Cake which was made for me to keep. Luckily I got them off, but now I have nothing to keep the cake in, and I obviously don't want those bloody ants attacking it again! Last three days all I've been doing is spraying the ants outside, trying to get rid of them. Doesn't help we're going through a huge heat wave and it isn't going away any time soon. We're looking at basically an average of 38 degrees (thats celcius) till at least Saturday!

The Machinist

3.5/5

What a fucking weird ass movie. That was basically my first reaction after it finished. I had such a hard time watching it to start with as Christian Bale looked like a rotting corpse! How the heck did he manage that? The lengths people go to for a role! Although just another reason why I love and adore Christian Bale, again he is excellent! He always is, and considering what he did for this role, just whoa! After I some what got used to see him look like a corpse I could get into the film more. I kind of had a feeling about where it was headed and I was about 80% correct by the time we got to the end. If you look closely the hints are all there. The paranoia and guilt in this film, the way it was portrayed was actually rather interesting, the script was pretty good. Christian Bale really connects with the themes of the film, I don't think any other actor could have been as convincing. This certainly wouldn't be for everyone, but I'd definitely recommend it for Bale fans.

The King Of Kong: A Fistful Of Quarters

4.5/5

Well I for one liked this quite alot, having played that bloody game for years and years, you know what its like to want to be the best. The film completely reminded me and intense rivalry I had with my mother (Well I don't think it'll end honestly) over the games we used to play like Mario Bros, Tetris ect... where if I got a high score she would sit there no matter how long it took and tried to beat the score. Then I would try and beat her score no matter what. The film just seriously brought all those memories back! But yeah in the film Billy came off terribly badly, so did a few others, but perhaps the reason is maybe that IS what they are actually like? Steve seemed like MAYBE he should have gotten his arse off that game a bit and actually like pay attention to his kids, whether that was the case all the time I don't know but that is how it seemed. It actually really sucks you right into the drama of it all and then you like finish the film and remember it was all about a damn game. Again brings back those memories, being obsessed over a damn game and you know just how they feel. I'd like to read more about it all, as I did find it rather interesting, and going to one of those tournaments would be quite the thing to see actually! It was highly enjoyable, gotta love being such a nerd/geek/dork!

thats life

So whenever something good finally happens in my life it seems to be followed by an insane amount of bad things. Because you know god forbid a good thing happen to me! Seems like I can't even have a moment to enjoy it. *sigh*

Day is starting off awesome, I feel like a migraine is coming yet again! I have the shit shift at work, so if I do get one, I'll have to spend all afternoon at work with it, as I wont be able to leave. I can take my pills, but there is only so much they can do.

But yep, I guess thats life. Always dealing with the complete bullshit that comes with it. Waiting for an actual GOOD day to come by.

Migraines

So last night when I get home after hanging out with a mate, I have this fucking awful migraine, and it was really, really bad, I hadn't had one that fucking bad for a really long time. Why the fuck am I getting them so often? Now I've woken up (Not much sleep) and I feel like I've got a cold. Cut me a fucking break life, can I have one day where I don't feel like complete shit? I am so sick and tired of this bullshit! I try and do the right thing, and still nothing. I gotta be at work in less then an hour and a half, gotta get a lift in and then I have no idea whats happening afterwards. Have a family get together later, need to find a lift there, I have to get stuff from the shops and I don't see how that is going to happen *sigh* such bullshit!
