Manhunter

4.5/5

I realllly realllly love this movie, I like the way its put together, I like the story, I like the actors. I'd rather not compare this to Red Dragon, while they are based on the same novel I think they are quite different in their own ways. I think William Peterson was perfect as Will Graham, I really like his performance in this. Dennis Farina I just adore and he is good here too, perfect sort of role for him. Tom Noonan is pretty spot on as Francis Dolerhyde, I thought he was really perfect for the role. His scenes with Joan Allen are fantastic, she is also another one who is perfect (She usually is though). The scene with tiger is just amazing, done so well. Then we have the small role of Hannibal Lecktor (Yep spelt with a K in this) played by Brian Cox. I really liked Brian Cox in this role, for the short amount of time he's there I thought he made an impact and played a good Hannibal, and played as a background character. It would have been interesting to see him play the character again.

AUSTRALIAN Idol
fans have given the thumbs down to Natalie Gauci's album, with lacklustre sales seeing it fail to debut in the top 10 on the national charts.

Despite heavy promotion on one of the year’s most-watched programs, the souvenir CD The Winner's Journey only managed to make it to number 12 on the ARIA chart, with sales of of 11,489 units in its first week of release.

By comparison, last year’s winner Damien Leith sold 89,257 copies of his debut CD in its first full week on sale, according to music news website Undercover.com.au.

The winner's single this year, Here I Am, has sold only 19,362 copies in the three weeks it has been on sale.

Eastern Promises

4.5/5

I finally got around to seeing this, and I really did love it, I do have to see it again though. This was quite an interesting film for Cronenberg, the whole Russian mob thing and all. Viggo was just simply amazing, and how he got through that infamous fight scene is beyond me! Naomi for me is never a let down, she was really good, *SPOILER* although that kiss at the end was forced. I didn't feel that their characters should have done that. *END SPOILER* Vincent Cassel, what a guy, perfectly cast as Kirill, such a good actor. The relationships that were formed in the film were interesting, and the revelations were as well, some I saw coming and some I didn't at all! Which is something I really like, I don't like seeing things coming a mile away and some things were quite the surprise. Cronenberg has crafted quite the film, another impressive film to add to his list! And of course another reason why he is one of my all time favourite film makers!

The Legend Of 1900

5/5

Caught this on TV last night by surprise, went to go to sleep and this was starting. I just adore and love this film so much, it just felt even better seeing it again (It really needs to be in my collection.). It has a strange story, about a man (Tim Roth) who was raised on a ship and who never leaves the ship and his a musical genius on the piano. The story is told from the point of view of a man he met on the ship, Max (Pruitt Taylor Vince) who starts to tell the story when he hears a record of music that shouldn't exist (You have to watch the film to find out about that.). Firstly, while the story is a little strange, it just seems to work so well. Tim Roth is just simply amazing as 1900, the casting for that role, perfection. One of the best films Tim Roth has done, and its no wonder he's on my list of my fav actors. For my anyway I just couldn't help but fall in love with 1900, everything about the character, just loved it. Another genius casting choice was Pruitt Taylor Vince as Max, I thought he was just excellent. Those two had great chemistry together and it worked so well. One of the best scenes is when their characters meet, simply fantastic. Again if you can't tell, I really do love this film.

White Rabbit

White Rabbit by Jefferson Airplane

One pill makes you larger
And one pill makes you small
And the ones that mother gives you
Don't do anything at all
Go ask Alice
When she's ten feet tall

And if you go chasing rabbits
And you know you're going to fall
Tell 'em a hookah smoking caterpillar
Has given you the call
Call Alice
When she was just small

When men on the chessboard
Get up and tell you where to go
And you've just had some kind of mushroom
And your mind is moving low
Go ask Alice
I think she'll know

When logic and proportion
Have fallen sloppy dead
And the White Knight is talking backwards
And the Red Queen's "off with her head!"
Remember what the dormouse said:
"Feed your head
Feed your head
Feed your head"

DANNII M

Just been listening to Dannii Minogue's new album Unleashed, it is so good! I love that bitch!

Put the needle on it biatches!

I really think she is highly under-rated, she is fantastic, especially in the last few years. Some of her stuff, yes is better then Kylie's but their music is different in ways so that is to be expected.

Melbourne Trip

So from Dec 6th to Dec 11th (today), I've been on a trip to Melbourne with my Mum to visit my sister Rachel and her partner Gianluca. It was a nice trip, really needed to get away for a few days. I hadn't met their dog, who they've had for two and a half years Carlos (The Aussie Terrier) and I hadn't seen where they lived either. So it was really nice to go back to Melbourne after three years. Was different being in the suburbs, away from the city. Last time I was there my sister was living in an apartment in St. Kilda, across from the beach.

We didn't do much, hung around the house, hung out, watched Foxtel which they only just got set up, we played board games, and cards, played with the dog alot. We met Gianluca's family as well, had a family lunch on Sunday, nice Italian food of course. Sunday night we went to the movies and saw Eastern Promises which I had been dying to see. I love David Cronenberg, and seeing one of his films on the big screen finally was great. Review pending lol.

Then Monday, the three of us girls went shopping in the city, walked around, had lunch together. Then Mum went to the Casino, and me and Rachel went shopping, bought a few things, got some bargains hehe. Had a nice night in, played Trivial with Rachel and I lost ahh!

Did a bit more shopping this morning, and then we came home!

The Ron Clark Story (The Triumph)

3.5/5

Above average made for TV movie, about the teacher who goes to a tough school and teaches the kids they can become something. Sure its nothing new, but this is a true story lol! What makes this work is Matthew Perry who really is perfect for the role of Ron Clark. He gives an honest performance, you actually care if Ron succeeds in helping these kids. The kids are also really good, some stereotypical characters but they did try. I'd recommend this to people who like these kinds of movies, something with a positive message, and of course this is for Matthew Perry fans, he really is great in this.
