The Tripper
3.5/5
Totally wasn't expecting much going in, just that it was about a dude in a Reagan mask who kills hippies. And well that David Arquette directed and co-wrote it. This actually quite surprised me, it is alot of fun once it gets going, its silly for sure, and quite trippy with the hippies and their drugs. Best part about the movie is without a doubt Thomas Jane, he is DA MAN! I love him, and he seriously owns in this (he owns in everything), this wouldn't have been as good without him and his handle bar moustache. Sure the acting wasn't great, and some bits were a little slow, but overall I had fun. The characters for the most part I found to be really annoying, usually they try to make them likeable, but I wanted to see them bite the dust. Usually I like Jaime King, her character in this was soo annoying, I wanted to just axe her lol! I'd recommend this to those who like silly slasher types, and well if you wanna see hippies get whats coming to them lol.
Lie With Me
2/5
This movie gets two stars, and why only because Eric Balfour is amazing to look at, with clothes and without clothes. Otherwise this was not a good movie, I found the characters to be unlikeable, and I was so annoyed with Lauren Lee Smith. I could not stand her character, her minimal voice over was annoying too, what she had to say, not interesting. Sure they tried to have this from a females point of view, sex that is, but it just did not work at all for me. The sex scenes are confronting, and they aren't bad (Except one), but also can't help feel they did it in the way that they did to get this film noticed. Lauren Lee Smith spends most of the movie nude, or wearing see through clothes (Yes that is soo realistic, not). There is a nude dance sequence which looks so stupid, it was hard to watch. Even the character of David's sick old man you see nude, they wanted lots of nude, and it was all so pointless. I really can't recommend this, only if you want to sit through a bad movie and see Eric Balfour naked and having sex. Even then, fast forward everything else!

Coffee and Cigarettes
4/5
I wasn't really sure what to expect going into this, a bunch of shorts put together over like 17 years or something. But it was actually quite surprising, some bits were done really well and quite hilarious and there were only maybe two segments I didn't really like (Renee being one of them). I have to say my favourites would have to be Roberto Benigni and Steven Wright, that segment should have been longer, classic stuff. Tom Waits and Iggy Pop was gold, loved that. Cate Blanchette's bit was spot on, she was excellent as herself lol and as her cousin. I loved the Alfred Molina and Steve Coogen bit, the longest one I think but so hilarious, so nicely done, it was perfect. The Bill Murry with RZA and GZA was pretty good too, very random, seemed most random especially with some things Bill Murray was saying which referred to a different segment. Not something I could easily recommend, but if you like your Jim Jarmusch this would be a must see.
"Very good, I don't understand nothing" - Benigni
Mean Creek
4/5
This was really good, and quite disturbing too. Basically it's about a bully, he beats on a young kid, and the young kid and his brother and his mates decide they need to get even. They plan a prank, just to humiliate the bully, so they go out on the creek, and everyone wants to back out of the prank, as the bully doesn't seem so bad. But things take a turn, and I wont reveal any more. All the cast are excellent, top performances from everyone. Reminds me a bit of River's Edge, even though the story is different. The themes presented in the movie are important, and I'd highly recommend this.
Hedwig And The Angry Inch
3/5
Weird movie, not much of a storyline, well not enough anyway. Kind of wanted a bit more out of it. The whole telling the story to the music was done really well though, the music was good. John Cameron Mitchell looked like the male version of Rachel Griffiths, which was a bit weird. Michael Pitt is adorable and should have been in it more. Hard to recommend this, but if you like these kinds of movies, you'd get something out of it.

LOS ANGELES, Calif. (October 18, 2007) - It's the end of Corey Camelot: Feldman and Haim have split up!!!
The two Coreys are no longer friends according to Feldman, who spoke about the matter earlier this week to US Weekly.
"We are not in great shape these days," the former "Surreal Life" star told US Weekly."We had a bit of a falling out."
The childhood friends recently reunited for an A&E reality show, "The Two Coreys." The program ended its run this past summer.
Now, Feldman said, the two men have stopped speaking.
"No, we are not [talking] at all," Feldman said. "He made some big mistakes and I am not sure why he made them. I am a bit confused by it all. He has big issues."
Feldman revealed that the two men haven't spoken in about two months.
"He has to get his life together," Feldman said. "He has some serious issues he must deal with. That's all I will say. He has to get it together very soon."
In related news, the big screen reunion of the two Coreys is also apparently off. Haim did not take part in "Lost Boys 2: The Tribe."

Could You Be a Vampire?
You Could Be a Vampire... If You Had To |
Like most people, the thought of being a vampire has crossed your mind. But you're not sure if you'd do it, even if you could. Living forever doesn't sound half bad, if you could live forever with the people you love the most. But do vampires even love? And would the vampire version of you even be you? It's all too much to contemplate. Luckily, the chances of you ever becoming a vampire are astronomically low. What you would like best about being a vampire: Living forever What you would like least about being a vampire: Blood stained teeth |
Star Trek 2008
Of course the first bit of casting news came earlier in the year that my slight obsession Zachary Quinto will be playing the role of Spock, made famous by Leonard Nimoy.
A cool bit of info, in his latest interview, Zachary said he had been fitted for the vulcan ears *squee* hehe.
More on the casting, we have Chris Pine who is basically cast as James T. Kirk, Karl Urban as Doctor 'Bone's McCoy, Zoe Saldana as Uhura, Anton Yelchin as Chekov, John Cho as Sulu, Simon Pegg (Yes Simon 'Shaun of the Dead' Pegg) as Scotty and Eric Bana to play Nero the villain. Some cast huh? The only weirdish ones are John Cho (He isn't Japanese) and Karl Urban, he doesn't really have the 'Bones' vibe, I hope he proves me wrong.
So cool, I can't wait, I'll be on the prowl for set photos and everything. Word is that Christopher Pike was going to be in this as well. For any TOS fans, you'll remember that Pike was in the original TOS pilot The Cage as the Enterprise Captain, played by the gorgeous Jeffrey Hunter (RIP).
This is totally one of my most anticipated films, I hope the late 2008 release doesn't get changed. Of course other films on my radar are The Dark Knight, Iron Man and Watchmen.

Too much
Least I got The Shield Season 5 and Inland Empire Soundtrack in the mail finally. Finished The Shield today, basically we spent the day watching it, such an excellent show. Can't wait to get Season 6, and I really want to just rewatch the whole thing again.
Inland Empire soundtrack is excellent, David Lynch is a genius, Ghost Of Love is one of the most amazing and haunting songs, hard to believe its Lynch singing it as well as having written it.
Looking forward to more Heroes this week, more Sylar, more Nathan, bring it on bitches. Totally loving David Anders on the show as well, and I'm looking forward to seeing Nichelle Nicholls as Nana on the show. Great casting, they love the Trek!
Well heres some cool Heroes related pics I've come across.
David Anders and Masi Oka
Milo Ventimiglia, Jack Coleman, Kristen Bell and Zachary Quinto
Adrian Pasdar and Greg Grunberg
Zachary Quinto and Neil Patrick Harris

The weirdness of Flixster

Planet Terror
3.5/5
Basically this is an exploitation movie, over the top everything, not much of a storyline, just excuses to have lots of blood and gore. Its pretty enjoyable if you like these kinds of movies (Like I do), and in this Unrated DVD edition they kept the Grindhouse format, theres a missing reel, the quality is all over the place, it loses colour ect... but it worked for the film. The actual effects are really good, too good for the B or even C grade they were aiming for. The acting isn't great but it isn't supposed to be. The characters are over the top but enjoyable, could have done without Fergie but meh. Just like with Death Proof one of the strongest things about the film is the soundtrack, its pretty awesome. Also what was cool was they had the fake Machete trailer, it was a shame the same wasn't done with Death Proof. Oh and for those who just wanted to see this for Rose with her gun leg, skip to the end.
HONESTLY FUCK OFF! I cleary state on my profile I don't want these kinds of messages, I don't use Flixster to find men, its for movies only! Wow they can't read or type, useless idiots! They are only good for me laughing at them, and well sending their messages to Steven so he can laugh!
