Entourage, House & Smallville

Firstly, time to cap off Entourage Season 4. Probably a weaker season but I enjoyed it all the same. The first episode was done so differently then all the rest, I thought it worked. Seeing them actually work on the film was a good change. I absolutely loved Walsh, such a crazy character. Not to mention Rhys Coiro is gorgeous, I love his long hair too hehe, but he plays Walsh to perfection. Eric was also a bit off and on this Season, but it was funny that he was right all along. He didn't think the film was good, at least the way Walsh had edited it and considering the reaction at Cannes, he was right on. Its too bad Vince didn't listen to him. Interesting experiment with Eric being Anna Faris' manager and I knew it wouldn't work out, and I think Vince was jealous deep down of course. Not much for Turtle this season really, such a shame because he is a good character. Any time with Johnny Drama is gold, goodness the animal love thing was hilarious and just so tasteless too! I love how in the finale he got that woman, and everyone saw them screwing on the beach haha! I can't wait for Season 5, but yes, it is a long wait and hopefully worth it!

Now on to House, Season 4 opener was an enjoyable one. House without a team is interesting, and he didn't handle it all too well, even though he wanted to prove he could. I love how he used the janitor, classic House behaviour. What was even better was Wilson kidnapping House's guitar hahaha. Love the stuff between them. The actual case ended up being rather interesting and the conclusion was very sad. But it was something they hadn't done before, and it was done well. Be interesting to see House try and chose a team, those poor doctors hehe.

Smallville is back for its 7th season, we left last Season with Bizzaro Clark getting created. The episode itself was alright, some things were rushed as usual and somethings were rather dumb. Lois was terrible in this episode, one minute she cares about Chloe the next she doesn't. Poorly handled. Chloe waking up in the morgue was good, I liked it when she burnt her death certificate. But it is getting a bit tiresome with Clark facing his evil self or him being evil or something. Lana is alive, we all knew she faked her death to frame Lex. She looked awful in that blonde wig too. Lex thinking he saw an angel, I wonder if he'll realize who it was. The angel he saw was Supergirl aka Kara Zor-El, Clarks cousin. Apparently shes been in a ship in suspended animation for years and what happened let her ship out. Find out more next episode, as its all about her. I am excited, and I really hope they do things right. The actress has the right look, she looked good in the episode and she flies! Bring it on! I can't wait to see Dean Cains guest appearance, I've been waiting so long for this. And we also get Helen Slater playing Lara, Clarks bio mamma, for at least two episodes! Talk about perfect casting! I'm loving it, can't wait to see it!

So many shows!!

Tis the season for TV shows, actually its always the season lol but in the US all the main shows I watch have started up again!

Most importantly HEROES is back with Season 2! I'd rather not give anything away to anyone who is reading this and hasn't seen it yet. I'll just say I liked it alot, I like where things stand on the show and where things will go. Interesting things with two new characters, and interested to find out what happened to some characters. Kristen Bell is coming into the show in a few episodes, that should be awesome. The new badie seems really good too, we haven't seen him at all, just heard about him. I can't imagine we'll actually see him or find out who it is till probably mid-season, much like with Sylar in Season 1. Although we saw Sylar in the shadows, we didn't find out anything about him till episode 10. Can't wait for next weeks episode too, I've seen 5 clips and I have to say I am interested as anything! Bring it on!

In other shows news, I checked out the pilot to the new show Cane, and I didn't mind it at all. Although I am probably biased because it stars Nestor Carbonell and he's really hot. He used to be on Suddenly Susan, he played one of the crazy assassins in Smokin' Aces and he played Richard on Season 3 of Lost. He is mighty fine, but besides his sexiness, the show wasn't bad at all. I'll keep watching for sure.

NCIS is back too, now I have no idea if I missed things in Season 4, but there were things I was just so clueless about! Wow I should really pay more attention, I dunno if it was supposed to be that way or if I was so dumb I didn't pick up on the clues. I guess maybe I was a bit busy drooling over Michael Weatherly to pay close attention to the finer details lol. But the season 5 opener was fantastic! Can't wait to see more, and to go back and revisit the earlier seasons as well.

And now I must talk about Law & Order: SVU! What a bloody fantastic episode the Season 9 opener was! With how the last season ended, everything in the shit, I was wondering in which direction they'd go. It was sooo damn goood! Although why did Mariska have to cut her hair, I thought she looked great with it longer. Anyway I love the new cast addition with Det. Lake, he works so well with Fin too. I hope they get their own episode, not that I don't want the others. I mean I hate it when Elliot isn't on it lol! After all Elliot is played by Chris Meloni, one of the hottest men on the planet! But SVU rarely disappoints, I can't remember a bad episode, and this season is shaping up to be fantastic.

I just started watching Damages too, I've seen three episodes and I gotta say, it is off to a fantastic start! Glenn Close is excellent, she always is! This show has me hooked already! I love the format, and the mystery, how things are unravelling, its soo good. One of the better new shows, I can't wait to check out more episodes and catch up.

I'm still in the process of watching Season 6 of 24, I have to say it is the weakest season so far, but I am still enjoying it so far. Jack at least is still saying damnit quite often, I'd be disappointed if he didn't. Oh and lets hope Kiefer all the best, the idiot got done for a DUI, don't these people learn anything? Gah!

I'll post more about my shows soon! I still need to do a write up of Entourage Season 4, and also put my thoughts down about House as well. Stay tuned.

Price Reduction

Woo so I got a new dress for the wedding I will be attending on Saturday. It was $200 and reduced to $30, I really couldn't believe my luck. It looks really pretty on me, the colours look really good as well. I was a bit worried I wouldn't find anything and this was the first dress I tried on. With my weird and stupid body shape, its hard to find clothes that fit right. With a huge ass, and stomach that will always stick out, and well a huge bust size, it is hard. But I did drastically change my diet and life style (I exercise daily OMG) I am going to drop alot of this weight I've gained this year. I am no longer eating shit foods and over eating (Which was a major problem) and according to tape measure and scales I have lost weight. It'll be a slow weight loss, but that will be better in the long run and I'll be sure to keep it off. I actually have the motivation to do this, and stick with the changes I've made. If only I could get a good nights sleep now *sigh*

Blue Car

4/5

I thought this was a really good movie, but it was so sad, really sad. Agnes Bruckner (The Woods) owns this film, she's fantastic as Meg. Margaret Colin was pretty good as the mother, she was even a little creepy at times, not an easy role but she pulled it off quite well. David Strathairn was excellent as the teacher Mr. Auster, who encourages Meg and her poetry. Sure you can see where the student/teacher relationship is headed. She is using him as a father figure to start with and obviously that progresses, as her home life basically goes down the shitter. I really felt for Meg, what she went through, her loss, very sad and very moving.

Hollywoodland

3.5/5

I guess you could call this a slow burning film, about 50's Hollywood and George Reeves and fictional character Louis Simo who investigates Reeve's death and also life. So basically you have two storylines which parallel each other, Reeves and Simo's. Not hard to follow and quite interesting really. Ben Affleck puts in one of his best performances as Reeves, you can tell he put alot into the role and it pays off. Brody is good too, in what I'd easily describe as a sad role. Diane Lane who is always excellent is no different here. Bob Hoskins is scary, he suited the role perfectly. This isn't really an easy film to recommend, I can see that people would find it maybe a bit boring (I didn't really at all), and I am sure there are many Affleck haters and doubters but he really is excellent in this. This movie could have been better, but I enjoyed it for what it was. They really leave you with a sense of mystery, its there from the start and it doesn't go away, I think that is one of the strong points.

Blah blah blahhhhh

So I haven't really updated much lately, a really bad lack of sleep is to blame. It's been two weeks and I haven't gotten a good nights sleep, maybe the most I've gotten is 3 hours. Last night when I woke up I even went to sleep on the couch but I still couldn't really sleep. After work I went to town for a bit and by the time I got home I couldn't keep my eyes open, I tried to nap but I couldn't get to sleep. Feel so shitty too. This all started when I started exercising too, I dunno if that is a coincidence or if it has something to do with it. Beats me! Hopefully tonight I'll get some sleep, like a full nights sleep, that'd be ace!

Alone With Her

4/5

Not really sure what to say about this one. Sure the story is nothing new, a creepy dude stalks a some what lonely chick. But what sets this one aside from the rest is the way in which it was filmed. We see this entirely from the point of view of the stalker, from his hidden cameras, as he watches her. Not just in sections, for the entire film, whether the camera be one he's hidden in a bag, one he has hidden on him, or the numerous cameras he has hidden around her victims apartment. It is actually quite disturbing watching it, you really feel like you are invading someone's privacy, its really creepy. You really get to know the victim, and you feel for her and you just know things are going to keep getting worse. You see as the stalker (Played pretty darn chilling by Colin Hanks) slowly gets himself into her life, he toys with her life, twisting things around so he can come to her rescue, which leads her to start to fall for him. You really feel scared her for (Played to perfection by Ana Claudia Talancon), and it is really hard to actually watch. It isn't a long running film, the way it is presented I don't think it can be. This is really hard to watch, I'd have a hard time recommending this too. I think the way it was done, made it all too real. Our two leads put in some convincing performances which made it seem all the more real. This is a good movie that I don't think I'd be able to watch again.

Knocked Up

4/5

I thought this was a really enjoyable comedy, much like The 40 Year Old Virgin, it gives us some unique, funny and quirky characters. Seth Rogen is kind of cute as the loser type character who gets Katherine Heigl knocked up. They both have great chemistry together, which really makes their relationship work. Without that I don't think the movie would have been quite as enjoyable. Paul Rudd is always reliable, and well he's just adorable here. Leslie Mann was cast because she's married to Judd Apatow I'd imagine but she was good in her roll, although she was more hilarious in her small role in The 40 Year Old Virgin. Jason Segel (How I Met Your Mother) was pretty good too, I like the guy. Be nice to see him in movie films, he's good. I'd recommend this if you like The 40 Year Old Virgin and similar films.

Mr. Brooks

3.5/5

Certainly an interesting take on the genre, we're given a character who seems perhaps the least likey person to be a killer. Although isn't that whats scary? He looks like the man next door. This was a perfect role for Costner, he suited it so well. Nice to see him back in form. And as his counter part William Hurt was prefect, they played off each other so well, it really was a treat. Surprised by Dane Cook, I didn't expect much from him but he actually delivered most of the time. I think the weakest link was Demi Moore, not right for this role at all. Not that she was bad, but I don't think it suited her. Her storyline was the weakest and most unneccessary, it took away from the main plot and was just a distraction. I didn't find her character all that convincing either. Overall I enjoyed the film, it would have got 4 stars but Demi just brought it down.

The Warriors

3.5/5

I haven't seen this since I was a kid, I didn't remember much about it either, just the big gang meet up thingy. Sure there are bits that are silly, but overal you can forgive that and just enjoy it. I thought some of the other gangs looked cool while some looked really lame and just out-dated. Funny that one of the Warriors was James Remar who I best remember as Richard from Sex and the City (I'd rather forget he played Raiden in the MK sequel). One of the strongest parts of the film is the soundtrack, its just awesome, some great music (So does the game). It was a good movie to revisit, even though its dated. A remake is in the works, it'll suck balls.

Death Proof

3.5/5

So I finally got to see one half of Grindhouse. Difference being this is a much longer cut of what it was originally. While I did like it, I think the shorter cut shown as Grindhouse would have been good to see as well. There were some parts in this that just kind of dragged, weren't all that interesting. Other parts were done well, kept my attention. The best part of the film is definitely the last half hour, very exciting and some awesome stunts. Kurt Russell I think suited the character of Stuntman Mike, he was good, but for me he always is. All the girls were good too, sometimes annoying. I really liked Vanessa Ferlito, she was quite surprising. Zoe Bell isn't a good actress but that isn't her specialty, but she sure was pretty darn cool. Rosario Dawson is always good, and she was good here, I liked her alot. Funny cameo from Eli Roth, and from Quentin Tarantino as well. Glad I finally got to see this, awaiting Planet Terror now.

BURNS AGAIN!

So like I had to get my boss some coffee from the Cafe next door, I got them and the stupid things split on my arm and hands didn't they, when I went to open the door! Seriously if I don't burn myself on the presser or with the steam, I'll burn myself some other way! My thumb got it the worst, its currently swollen and off colour and puffy, quite the site. I've already applied a burn spray, and two different burn creams, doesn't seem to be doing anything! GAH! I have all the luck, don't I?

Rise: Blood Hunter

3/5

Pretty average movie, it wasn't great but it wasn't bad either. The idea behind it was good, but there was so much more they could have done with it. Lucy Liu was good for the role, although she was nude alot lol. Carla Gugino was barely in it, would have prefered more with her, as her character seemed cool. Michael Chiklis didn't really come into it until the second half, but he was good as well. The worst part was Nick Lashley, why oh why would you cast him?

Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas

4.5/5

"Oh my God. This is just like that drug trip I saw in that movie while I was on that drug trip."

Actually after just having watched this I feel like I am coming off a drug trip. That is how much of an affect this movie has, seriously! Johnny Depp is seriously execellent in this, maybe my favourite role of his, played to perfection. And Benicio, whoa, gained what 40lbs for the role and is just honestly so awesome. Terry Gilliam, well done sir.
