Tarantino to direct The Shadow?

by: Super Marcey

Well this is quite the development in THE SHADOW drama's. First we heard that Sam Raimi was on board, then it was David Slade. It has switched studio's, then it seemed forgotten about. Now word on the street is that Quentin Tarantino is a prospect for the director's chair. Not only that, but he is attached as a co-writer.

This certainly has come out of the blue, in all of his ramblings I don't think I have heard him mention THE SHADOW. I do remember he mentioned he was interested in doing a superhero film, an original idea not something already in existence. Perhaps he wants to reinvent this character? Time will tell if this does pan out.

You might remember the original film which came out in 1994. It was directed by Russell Mulcahy (HIGHLANDER), and starred Alec Baldwin, Penelope Ann Miller, Ian McKellan, Tim Curry and Peter Boyle. It had an impressive cast and pretty good effects for the time. However the film was a major flop, now I consider it to be a guilty pleasure.
