No More Jekyll and Hyde For Ferrara

By: Super Marcey

Abel Ferrara recently spoke to UK's The Guardian, where he revealed his JEKYLL AND HYDE film was not going to happen. Last time we had heard about this film the original stars had parted the project (Curtis Jackson and Forest Whitaker). Ferrara spoke about Curtis Jackson "He could be an awesome Ed Hyde. He's the real deal. But it's not gonna get made." So what other reasons are there (besides the exit of its leads) that it's 'not gonna get made'?

"Warner Brothers have put up about one fifth of what the film should cost and want about one third of what it's gonna make." he added "They never made Jekyll & Hyde the way it was written. It's a guy and his creation. Having one actor play both parts is an abomination, a distortion of Stevenson's story. It's a masterpiece. I'm gonna make it one day."

Well there you have it folks, he didn't get the budget he wanted, which is a valid reason. Filming was supposed to start this summer. It is now on hold indefinitely. A shame too, this sounded interesting, especially with having two different actors play Jekyll and Hyde respectively.
